What is language assessment software?

How does AI language assessment work?
The candidate gets a link, answers speaking and writing tasks in their browser, and the AI scores them within minutes. Speaking is marked on pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary and coherence. What is CEFR and why does it matter for hiring?
CEFR is the international standard for describing language ability, running from A1 up to C2. It matters because "conversational" and "business fluent" mean whatever the person saying them wants. A B2 does not. Everyone in the process reads it the same way, including the candidate, which makes it something you can actually put in a job description.
How long does an assessment take?
Speaking on its own takes about 7 minutes and still returns a full CEFR level, which is all many roles need. Speaking and writing together is about 20, and writing alone is 15 to 16. Candidates take it whenever suits them, so there is no appointment for anyone to miss and nothing sitting in your calendar.
Which languages can you assess?
12 of them: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Korean, Russian, Dutch, Swedish. Each has its own question library, and questions are drawn at random inside a fixed structure. Two candidates sitting the same assessment do not get the same questions.
